Nutrition during periods of illness and recovery is vital but can sometimes be an afterthought as diagnostics and medical management are prioritized. This talk will review key points related to nutrition of hospitalized pets, including the importance of performing a nutritional assessment, selecting an appropriate diet and initiating a refeeding plan – which can ultimately lead to quicker recovery times and shorter stays in hospital.
