Fundraise for Farley Month
October (may also be run during the month of your choice)
Fundraise for Farley Month is the Foundation’s biggest fundraising event. It is a month-long campaign during which veterinary practices from around Ontario hold fundraising activities in support of the Foundation. In 2006, over 200 veterinary practices across Ontario raised $83,000 for people and pets in need. This success is attributable to the fact that veterinary staff are increasingly enjoying this annual opportunity to give back to their communities and show their passion for the animals they care for every day.
Getting involved in Fundraise for Farley Month gives you the opportunity to:
- Raise money for a great cause
- Increase public awareness of The Farley Foundation
- Increase your clinic/hospital’s community profile by inviting pet owners and other members of the public to come to your clinic and help you to give something back to the community
- Help your peers. This is a great opportunity to help The Farley Foundation ensure that when a practice asks for Farley funds, The Farley Foundation has the funds to offer eligible applicants.
Fundraise for Farley Month Awards System
Plus, the top performers win amazing prizes such as free registration for OVMA’s Conference & Trade Show, copies of books autographed by Lynn Johnston herself, recognition in Focus magazine and on www.farleyfoundation.org
Get involved in Fundraise for Farley Month
There are two main ways you can get involved with the annual Fundraise for Farley Month campaign.
- The easy as pie method: Just order a free Making Tracks for Farley fundraising kit (includes posters, paw prints, brochures, plus a different item each year). Then, in October, rally your staff and get them motivated to sell more paw prints than any other practice in Ontario.
- Come up with your own cool, fun, fundraising idea.
Watch for details about participating in this year’s event in Focus magazine, member bulletins and NewsHound (OVMA’s electronic newsletter) or write to mcarlaw@ovma.org for more information.
