OIP News - Coverage for the Back-to-School Bunch

Do you have a family member who is returning to full-time studies that is covered under your home, auto or employee group benefits policies?

A discount of up to 50% is available to occasional drivers listed on your auto policy while in full time attendance at college or university (must be minimum distance away from your home). Speak with your Client Manager for more details.
If your policy included the away-at-school discount last year and you would like to extend the discount to this year, remember to call your Client Manager. This discount must be added each year.
If your dependent student is living away from home, coverage is extended to them for liability and contents. Limits vary depending on the type of policy you have. If higher limits are required, you may wish to consider a tenant’s policy to cover their contents and liability on their rented premises. Contact your Client Manager for more details.
If your dependent student meets the criteria set by the covering insurance company, they can continue to be covered for employee group benefits while at school. Among the required criteria, you must provide proof of their attendance at a qualifying institution.
