In 1986, OVMA created the OVMA Awards Program to help recognize veterinarians who have gone beyond the call of duty to assist animals, pet owners and human health as it relates to veterinary medicine.
OVMA Award of Merit: Nominate Your Veterinarian
Members of the public call/write OVMA on a regular basis to share stories about a veterinarian who went beyond the call of duty to assist them in caring for the pets that mean the world to them. We ask that pet owners help us to honour these inspiring veterinarians by nominating them for the prestigious OVMA Award of Merit.
The OVMA Award of Merit is designed to recognize individuals who the general public feels are deserving of recognition for their practice of, or help to, veterinary medicine. It is awarded for distinguished public service to the veterinary profession in any form, including volunteer work for OVMA or an animal health agency, guidance/mentorship to recent veterinary graduates, leadership he/she has shown in his/her local community, etc.
