 RVT and Team Leader Job, Animal Hospital of High Park. We are a progressive, well established and well equipped two doctor practice located in the Junction area of Toronto. Job Summary: We are looking for a dynamic candidate who is eager to learn, possesses excellent aptitude, leadership and time management skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic team player, will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, is self-motivated and places a high value on customer service. Our ideal candidate is someone who can balance the daily duties of a technician with a broader leadership role; someone who equally loves working with animals, forming lasting client relationships, and developing new ideas for clinic growth. Previous experience with avian and exotics is an asset. This position is 35-40 hours/week and includes morning, evening and alternating Saturday shifts. Responsibilities and Duties: appointment assistance, filling medication, medical record keeping, client education, restraint for companion animal and avian/exotic species, blood and urine collection; performing basic lab tests, taking digital radiographs, performing dental cleanings and dental radiographs, surgical assistance, anesthetic monitoring, phone and email communication. In addition to RVT duties: Volunteer and co-op student coordination, Community engagement and social outreach, leading our medical team in new plans and protocols, building and maintaining exemplary client communication and relations.
