All Day Event

Ottawa, ON

Pathology Pearls of the GIT system / Adrenal glands / biopsy wet lab

This 1.5 day course will discuss the practical issues of ultrasound of the GIT system and Adrenal glands with Dr. Bob Hylands. Dr. Hylands shares with us his passion for this invaluable modality and his years of scanning in his own practice and he presents fascinating cases and practical uses for ultrasound. The lecture will be followed up with four hours of scanning a mixture of both cats and dogs and another scan lab Sunday morning.

For the novice scanner this is all very interesting material full of pearls for diagnosis of common and uncommon pathology of the GIT and Adrenals. You will have the opportunity to scan the GI system, adrenals and other abdominal organs in the 2 scan labs. For the scanner with some experience, you will be able to build on your skills and learn unique opportunities to use your ultrasound machine.

Dr. Hylands has written and published quarterly articles in the Canadian Veterinary Journal on Diagnostic Imaging. He is also an associate editor on the Veterinary Information Network (VIN.com) where he helps answer postings from veterinarians from around the world with respect to their own cases and the ultrasound images associated with them.
