Got a Pet? Get a Vet! That’s the message the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, the Ontario SPCA and participating SPCAs and Humane Societies are sending to pet owners.

Prevention is key to helping your pets live long and healthy lives. Scheduling regular visits with your veterinarian can help detect and treat health problems sooner. Having a relationship with your veterinarian also means that if your pet requires emergency treatment, you have someone who knows your pet and their history.

Veterinarians provide many services such as:

  • Early disease detection
  • Dental disease prevention
  • Spaying and neutering
  • Nutritional counselling
  • Regular vaccinations
  • Addressing behavioural concerns
  • Flea, tick and parasite prevention
  • Pet identification

You can get involved by getting a veterinarian. If you already have a veterinarian, share the message with others using #GotAPetGetAVet.
